Workshop 1: Navigating Family Estrangement in Older Adulthood
February 18, 2026 at 10:00 am CT
Family estrangement can affect emotional well-being, social support, and decision-making later in life. This workshop will explore causes of estrangement, how estrangement can change with aging, and the challenges older adults can face as a result. Viewers will gain health coping strategies, communication considerations, and way they can provide compassionate support to those experiencing estrangement.
Workshop 2: Polypharmacy and Deprescribing
March 18, 2026 at 10:00 am CT
As we age, managing medications can become overwhelming and complex. During this session, educators will explain what polypharmacy is and why taking multiple medications can increase the risk of side effects, medication interactions and falls. Participants will learn about deprescribing, including how healthcare providers evaluate medications and work with patients to safely reduce or adjust prescriptions.
Workshop 3: Beyond the Will: The Decisions, Documents, and People that Shape Your Estate Plan
April 15, 2026 at 10:00 am CT
Estate planning can be difficult to navigate as we age, and goes beyond writing a will. In this workshop, educators will cover planning documents such as powers of attorney, advance healthcare directives, and beneficiary designations. Participants will learn about roles of trusted decision-makers and how planning can reduce confusion, conflict, and stress for loved ones. Strategies will be shared to help avoid common estate planning mistakes.
The Aging Well Workshops provide education designed to help individuals, families and caregivers make informed decisions, plan ahead, and navigate difficult aging-related issues with confidence and clarity.
