Kore Cares Care Champion: Peggy

Last year, front line workers were put to the test when the Coronavirus quickly swept the world. Health care professionals were asked to work longer hours at a higher risk. We wanted to create an award that honors the work our frontline staff and all the frontline staff everywhere are doing day in and day out to care for other people. Kore Cares wanted to honor two people who embody the ultimate caregiver. We asked coworkers, family members, etc. to nominate someone in their life who they think goes above and beyond for their clients/patients/residents every day. We received a variety of responses highlighting numerous deserving nominees. Last year’s winners were Desiree and Jennifer. We are excited to continue this award for years to come and continue to shine a light on these caregivers who are making a difference in the lives of those they serve. We want to share a little about our 2021 Care Champions. Earlier this week we introduced you to Julie. Now read on to learn about our other award winner, Peggy!

Peggy has been a caregiver for almost 4 years. She truly makes a difference in the lives of each person she sees. Clients of Peggy’s are always impressed with how much she cares and values doing an exceptional job. Here is what one of Peggy’s nominators had to say about her: “Peggy is the best I have ever had in my home. She caught on so quickly to my wants and needs. She is very pleasant to have around. She knows exactly how I like my bed made, what needs to be done with my clothes, and all other things needed. I don't have to worry about her doing her job at all. She knows me so well now that I trust her with my grocery shopping. She makes good use of her time and does extra things without me asking such as cleaning my sliding glass door, cleaning the burner pans on the stove and air filters. She goes above and beyond for sure. I love having Peggy as my home care person.”

Peggy goes above and beyond to connect with her clients and brighten their days. Here is what another nominator had to say: “Peggy has been a calm and steady hand with mom especially during covid and mom's worsening dementia. She seems to know what mom needs and quietly does her job. Mom calls Peggy "her Pal". The rest of us say "thank God" for Peggy. Peggy is not just mom's primary caregiver; she is a caring person who has added to mom's happiness in her final years.”

Thanks for all you do, Peggy!
