Honoring Sylvia and Lilly: 2025 National Caregiver of the Year Nominees

The role of a caregiver is often unsung yet essential, especially in today’s evolving home care industry. In an exciting and heartwarming recognition, Sylvia and Lilly, two of our dedicated caregivers, have been nominated for the 2025 National Caregiver of the Year Award by the Home Care Association of America (HCAOA). Their nominations not only honor their unwavering commitment to their clients but also highlight the critical role of caregivers nationwide. This year, HCAOA received a record-breaking 506 nominations, making their inclusion even more meaningful. Sylvia and Lilly’s recognition underscores the importance of quality home care and brings attention to the future of senior living—a future that organizations like Kore Cares are helping to shape every day.

Sylvia and Lilly’s nominations for the 2025 National Caregiver of the Year Award represent a significant milestone in acknowledging their passion, skill, and the personal connections they build with each client. HCAOA shared that this year’s record number of nominations reflects the widespread respect for the invaluable work that caregivers provide. Caregivers like Sylvia and Lilly play a vital role in ensuring that seniors and individuals with disabilities can remain independent in the comfort of their own homes, surrounded by familiarity and dignity.

For Sylvia, this recognition is especially meaningful, as her manager Kara shared in her nomination: “I have nominated Sylvia  for this award because she consistently goes above and beyond for her clients. She is reliable and always shows up with a positive attitude. She has made a difference in those she cares for by always being a listening ear. Sylvia provides care with a sense of compassion and ensures her clients are comfortable and safe.” These words reflect not only Sylvia’s dedication but also the lasting impact she has on those she serves.

Lilly’s nomination also speaks volumes about her commitment to her clients and her team. Her manager Melissa wrote: “I am nominating Lilly  for this award because the care she provides consistently goes above and beyond expectations. She takes the time to learn and adapt to each client’s unique lifestyle and needs, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable in their homes. Lilly’s positive attitude brings joy not only to her clients but also to our team. She is dependable, eager to learn, and continually seeks opportunities to grow in order to provide compassionate, high-quality care.” Her words highlight Lilly’s adaptability, positivity, and dedication to delivering exceptional care.

The nomination process itself is highly competitive. From hundreds of submissions, one finalist will be selected from each of HCAOA’s five regions, with the top five announced later this fall. Those finalists will be honored at the 2025 National Home Care Conference in Dallas, Texas, October 20–21, where they will be recognized in front of industry leaders. Each finalist will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the conference, and the national winner will be revealed live at the event, receiving a $2,500 cash prize. For Sylvia and Lilly, the opportunity to be part of this process is already a remarkable achievement.

Caregivers like Sylvia and Lilly go beyond daily tasks. Their role often includes assisting with meals, bathing, dressing, medication reminders, transportation, and household support. Yet, more importantly, they provide companionship, emotional support, and a sense of security that allows clients to thrive in their own homes. Their work embodies not just physical assistance, but dignity, compassion, and connection—qualities that define the heart of caregiving.

The decision by HCAOA to celebrate caregivers through its annual awards reflects the changing landscape of senior care. With more seniors choosing to age in place, home care has become an increasingly vital part of the healthcare system. Kore Cares is proud to be part of this movement by offering individualized care plans, ongoing caregiver training, and specialized support for chronic conditions such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. By combining compassionate care with professional expertise, Kore Cares ensures that each client receives the support they need to live a fulfilling and independent life.

As the home care industry continues to grow, so does the demand for high-quality, personalized support. Home care offers advantages that larger facilities often cannot, such as one-on-one attention, stronger relationships between caregivers and clients, and the emotional benefit of staying in a familiar home environment. Sylvia and Lilly’s nominations shine a light on this important work and serve as a reminder of the profound impact caregivers have on the lives of those they serve.

We are proud of Sylvia and Lilly for their well-deserved recognition and look forward to the announcement of this year’s finalists. Regardless of the outcome, their nominations are a powerful acknowledgment of their dedication and the values Kore Cares instills in its caregivers. Their work is a true reflection of the heart of home care—providing not just services, but dignity, comfort, and companionship to those who need it most.
