Home Care and Assisted Living Partnerships

Have you ever wondered…What is assisted living? How is Assisted living different from home care? What is the best fit for me or my loved one?

Assisted livings are residential settings that provide a variety of services to residents including meals, housekeeping, personal care services, medication management, and 24-hour assistance. In addition to this, assisted livings provide activities that promote socialization and emotional and physical well-being.

Private duty home care provides similar services such as housekeeping, laundry, personal cares, meal preparation, and companionship. In addition to these services home care agencies may also have a nurse on staff that provides medication management, nail care, wound care and other additional nursing services. All of the services Kore Care provides are tailored to the client’s unique needs to assist with physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. The major difference is home care provides services to people in their home versus a residential setting.

As you can see, assisted livings and home care provide similar services just in different settings. Are these entities competitors or partners? The answer is partners. At Kore Cares we have partnered with assisted livings by providing additional services to residents such as transporting them to appointments, providing care in the home for those on assisted living waitlists, and providing additional care to those on hospice within an assisted living community. Additionally, we have helped clients transition to assisted living if they determine this is the right fit for them and we have helped people transition out of assisted living to their home. Everyone is on a different journey and for some assisted living is the perfect fit and for others home care might be what they desire.

If you or a loved one is in need of additional services but not sure if assisted living or home care is the right fit give us a call. We are here to help!
